What does this Royal Mail tracking status mean?
"This item is on its way to Royal Mail. The sender has advised they’ve despatched your item to us."We have our post collected daily by Royal Mail, when they collect the parcels they scan a "manifest" which lists all the parcels we have sent. At this point, the status is updated as above.
So, although the status says it's on its way to Royal Mail, it doesn't mean that we still have it. This status only changes once Royal Mail scan the barcode on the parcel label in the sorting office.
